I'm Elly Feighner. I live in Olivet, Michigan with my husband Forest, who I also create art with.
I never had any higher educational artisitc training. In high school I was the only freshman let into Art 2 — the teacher saw something and pulled me in. Since then I've just kept doing what I do. I don't work from technique, I work from feel.
My own art is abstract, centered on the human figure. I also shoot photos — mostly sunrises and sunsets, whenever I catch one worth stopping for. Outside the studio, I'm involved in civil rights advocacy in my community and the wider area — it matters as much to me as the art does.
With Forest, we co-run elest.studio together. He's the "est," I'm the "el."
Beyond the studio, I am a dedicated advocate for justice and accountability in my community.
